Amanda Renee Armstrong, 29, of Lebanon and formerly of Tipton, passed away unexpectedly in Clinton County on Saturday evening, July 3, 2021.
She was born on June 15, 1992 in Tipton, and was a 2011 graduate of Clinton Central High School.
For the last six years, Mrs. Armstrong worked for Blackmore Construction. After beginning with the company, she quickly learned the ins and outs of the business, making her an invaluable asset. She put her knowledge to the test and her work ethic on display when she became office manager, and later general manager, for Blackmore.
Mrs. Armstrong was a child of the ‘90s and early 2000s, but her soul was set in the ‘60s. Depending on who you ask, she was either the family “wild child” or the family “hippie.” She had a strong connection with the outdoors; so much so that she felt that the wearing of shoes might interfere with that connection, choosing instead to go barefoot any and every chance she could. She quickly and proudly adopted the name “Aunt Bare” from her nieces and nephews. She also loved arts and crafts and never missed an opportunity to do a little dancing (with or without her hula hoop).
She had a lot of love to put out into this world in a short time. She never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone.
Family was a top priority in Mrs. Armstrong’s life, and that included her four-legged family as well. She was one of those special people who seemed to have a way with cats; to call her a cat whisperer would be an understatement.
She was one of the lucky few to find her soulmate in life. On June 23, 2018, she married her best friend, Tommy Gayland Armstrong. Together, Tootsie and Cowboy grabbed life by the horns and lived it to the fullest. Mr. Armstrong survives.
She will be missed dearly by everyone, human and animal, who had the blessing of having her be a part of their life. You will always be mom’s “Dimple-doo.”
Survivors, other than her husband, include daughters, Lyla Rose Armstrong and Luna Rae Armstrong; father and step-mother, Robert Wayne (Lenora) Ogden of Missouri; mother, Sherry (Dickover) Bagley of Indianapolis; a brother, Dustin Ogden of Noblesville; sisters, Stephanie Ogden of Kirklin, Kitty Ogden of Tipton and Chelsea Bagley of Windfall; paternal grandparents, George and Mae Ogden of Tipton; maternal grandparents, Becky Halford (Jay) Holbrooke of Tipton, and Neil (Kathy) Dickover of Lafayette; father-in-law, Tom E. Armstrong of Kokomo; mother-in-law, Donna L. Scott (Tim DeLine) of Sheridan; grandfather-in-law, James Armstrong of Kokomo; brother-in-law, Andy Armstrong of Rossville; sister-in-law, Samantha (Ian) Easton of Michigantown; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her animals, her dog Chief and cat Phinny.
Services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St. in Sheridan. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan at a later date.
Memorial donations may be presented to Kercheval Funeral Home, P.O. Box 42, Sheridan, Indiana 46069, to help defray funeral expenses.
